It has planned to shut down due to acute financial crisis. Their final performance was on last Saturday. Who made the announcement? The […]

Four Reasons why you ahould LOVE your competition!

October 17, 2011

Filed under: Burnaby,Comic Relief,North Vancouver,Real Estate Market,Richmond,Surrey,Vancouver — Richard Morrison @ 10:34 pm

Every business owner who has a web based business has at some point had the following thought: “Why am I giving away all my hard-earned wisdom for free when my competition could easily snap it up and use it against me?” Competition is a scary thing. We all hope we’ll be the only person with this particular business innovation or that particular moment of genius, and that our idea is what launches us into greatness. Sometimes we’re right, sometimes we’re […]

I made the front page of the Vancouver Sun today… go figure…

June 20, 2011

Filed under: Comic Relief,Vancouver — Richard Morrison @ 10:34 pm
and this isn’t the first time…

but this time it wasn’t so… glamorous…

You see, the Vancouver Sun writer, Kim Bolan, thought I was the listing agent for a property in Burnaby which was connected to a known criminal.  When Kim searched the property and area on the internet, she found us at the top of the results – kudos for our marketing efforts – and to doing a better job than the listing agent (which is NOT me!).

So she automatically assumed that I was the listing agent for the said property (she assumed this after calling me once – and subsequently not reaching me during Father’s day Sunday – Sorry I didnt return your call: I must have been writing a card to my old man & then wining and dining him because he rocks).

LET ME BE CLEAR ABOUT THIS IN CASE YOU READ THE ARTICLE IN THE SUN TODAY:
I AM NOT THE LISTING AGENT FOR THIS PROPERTY…

So, after receiving a few calls and emails from past & potential clients, I decided to do something about it – so I went to find the culprit who ran my name in the front page of the paper in gross mistake…

After 20 emails and one ‘friendly’ phone call – I received the following email from the head editor at the Vancouver Sun:

"Hi Richard,
I spoke to our Editor in Chief Patricia Graham and she agreed to the following. It’s a bit unorthodox for us to run this in the body of the story, but since that was what you really wanted, she decided to relax our policy this once.
We will run the following paragraphs in the body of Kim’s follow-up story. "The listing agent is identified as Sutton’s Jenna Lowe and not Richard Morrison, as the Sun reported Monday. Morrison simply reposted the ad for the palatial Burnaby view property on his online site."
We will not be running a set straight on A2, as it would merely duplicate what is already being reported.
I trust that will satisfy,
Sincerely, Adrienne Tanner."

Please read tomorrow’s paper (Tuesday June 21st, 2011) and it will be all clarified – and once again we will be on the front page of the Vancouver Sun – albeit for all the wrong reasons.

BUT WE HAVE ALSO BEEN ON 3 FRONT PAGE ARTICLES SO FAR THIS YEAR – AND FOR ALL THE RIGHT REASONS!

…We just never boasted – but since the Vancouver Sun made us headline news – for the wrong reasons, why not let you know about our other headline news – for the right reasons? (are you reading this Sellers?).

This is how POWERFUL our marketing has become – we make headline news for the right and wrong reasons. Over 90% of Buyers are on the internet and we excel at bringing those buyers to you.
This means only one thing for you my dear Sellers: MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKET. Read success stories from our Sellers and Buyers that made headlines below:

Contact me today so we can help you (or someone you know) excel on your next sale. 604-767-3703.

Hope you are all having a great week!

By Peter Ladner This article originally appeared in crosscut.com. Of the many real estate flyers that arrive in my mailbox every week, this one really spelled it out (in English and Chinese): “Peter Saito can help make you a lot of money!! From 1993-2011, the average sales price of a detached home in vancouver has gone from $373,000 to $1.14 million, 3.05 times. Peter Saito’s clients’ average net equity holdings have gone up in the same period 30 times, from […]

Top Thanksgiving Turkey Substitutes

October 8, 2010

Happy Thanksgiving from The Richard MorrisonTeam!

Hi [fname], just wanted to wish you a Happy thanksgiving to you and all your family.

Anyway, while the rest of the world goes about its business, Canada will celebrate its traditional day of thanks this long weekend. What do you think?

We think it’s that time of the year when we get jolly, overeat, feel guilty on Monday night & have to go back to the gym… on Tuesday. So, our team is actually thinking about dieting through this Thanksgiving weekend (ya, fat chance…) and came up with a few Turkey substitute ideas…let us know what you think:

Turkey_redo_jpg_630x1200_upscale_q85.jpg

Unfortunately, we didn’t have space (more like courage) to include any mother/father-in-laws and the cats in the house.

But really, what we’re really talking about is a wonderful day set aside every second Monday of November when no one diets.  I mean, why else would they call it Thanksgiving right? And we hope you & your family have a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Quick update: Our schedules have been quite busy this entire year.
Despite the 37% slow down in the market we are glad to report that our team is actually up 9% in our sales Y-T-D! Yay Team! However, we are never too busy to take your calls or to help any one you know on their next move!

As always, we look forward to your replies, questions, and comments…

Kindest Regards,
Richard Morrison
